Serving since 2007

Our Story

Chris Tryjankowski and Pat Leary, born and raised in Buffalo, both attended McKinley High School, at different times, and took part in the plumbing program offered by the school. It was an experience they both acknowledge propelled them in the direction of working in the construction industry.

After graduation, Chris went to work for a combination of wholesalers, manufacturers and contractors and Pat worked for contractors exclusively. They knew each other from being in the same business and even worked at the same company prior to developing a real working relationship. In late 2006, they worked on a friend’s house together and came to the realization that they worked well together.
In 2007, their business opened and began slowly. They viewed plans on kitchen tables and worked out of garages, all the while saving their money to become financially independent. That independence came on December 4, 2009, when they got the keys to their own office, 1 Carter Street in Buffalo, the same day as the Construction Exchange Christmas Luncheon. Now, Chris is a member of the Auction Committee that puts together the Holiday Auction and also sits on the CIEF Board and the WNY Association of Plumbing & Mechanical Contractors. Pat serves on the PMCA labor negotiating committee.

Since 2007, PCS has grown to over 35 full time employees and during the busy construction season will have over 40 employees. The commercial plumbing department is still the backbone of the company. It has built a strong reputation for quality work at fair pricing. PCS is willing to tackle projects of all sizes and approaches each job with the idea of providing quality work balanced with the best interest of the owner. PCS makes solid recommendations as if, “We are building it for ourselves.”

PCS Today

Steadily Growing

The residential repair, remodel, and service department has grown from one service tech to six full-time technicians, a service manager, and an assistant. The techs take a think-out-of-the-box approach to all problems they encounter. Whether it’s tuning up an HVAC system to get it prepared for the season, installing a new system, cleaning a sewer or fixing a leaky faucet, this department does it all. The guys pride themselves on being clean, courteous and efficient.

In Spring of 2018, PCS opened a commercial HVAC department. As with all other aspects of the business they jumped in with both feet. The department has grown from just an estimator, to several technicians. This area is fast growing and gaining a very solid reputation for quality work. PCS can design and install a system for any location.

The excavation crew continues to grow as well. They are capable of everything from the simplest sewer or water service repair to a complete replacement. Sanitary and storm sewers, domestic and fire protection services for new residences and commercial buildings in all communities. Interior underground plumbing, cutting of concrete, excavation and repair are all services performed on a regular basis.

Due to the growth of the company, PCS grew out of the current office space on Carter Street. PCS purchased a building on South Park Avenue, on the corner of South Park and Eden Street, in the City of Buffalo. Renovations started in the spring of 2019 and the office staff moved around the corner from the current offices once that work finished.

Their success then and now has been built mostly on one philosophy. Chris describes, “If we are doing a residential job, I want it done like I’m doing it for my mother. If we’re doing a commercial job, I want it done like it’s our building”. Pat adds, “slow growth”, as another important term they use to describe what they have accomplished. Their goal is to continue to grow at a steady pace while building a reputation of tremendous work and customer service.

We continue to look for new talent both experienced and those who are dedicated and willing to put effort into learning a skill that will stay with them the rest of their lives. We have experienced a real interest with young people who see the merits of learning a trade. As long as they are committed to learning and growing, we are willing to invest in them with training.
